Abstract

996,453. Two-part couplings. PRESSAC Ltd. June 25, 1962, No. 24300/62. Heading H2E. An electric plug with contact blades has two plates or mouldings which are clamped together and have non- aligned slots which retain the contact blades. As shown, Fig. 4, the contacts consist of a blade 1 with feet-like portions 11 and a tag 2 which has ear portions 13 and is connected to the blade 1 by a twisted neck so that the surface of the tag is perpendicular to that of the blade. The blade 1 is mounted in a slot 10 in a panel 7 and a second panel 6 with a slot 8 and a central hole 9 is passed over the tag 2, and the plates are clamped together, e.g. by riveting. The feet 11 rest against the top of the panel 6 while the ears 13 rest against the bottom of the panel 7 thus preventing axial movement of the blade. In a modification, Fig. 7, the blade 1 and tag 2 are formed with steps 14, 15, as shown, which locate in slots in the plates 6, 7, which are offset, thus preventing withdrawal of the blade.
