Abstract

In a method of drawing a wire strand comprising three or more wires helically wound on each other, i.e. without a king wire, the strand is drawn through reducing means while subjected to back-tension within the limit of proportionality. The strand so produced can be used as the centre core in a wire rope in which the core and the covers have equal modula of elasticity.
