Abstract
995, 223. Washing machines. CONSTRUCTA WERKE G.m.b.H. Feb. 19, 1964 [Feb. 20, 1963],No.6956/64. Heading D1A. A rotary drum type washing machine has a heater 17 to heat the water to above 85C. and also has a condenser 13 to condense the vapour evolved within the tank 9 containing the drum 10. In the case of an end loading machine the condenser may be mounted between the drum 10 and tank 9 as shown at 13 or on the outer surface of tank 9 as at 19, and in the case of a top loading machine the condenser may be mounted on the underside of the lid. Water or ammonia can be used as the coolant for the condenser the supply of which may be controlled by a relay operated valve under control of a thermostat 18. The condenser may be refrigerated.
