Abstract

993, 955. Automatic voltage regulators. PAL-MAGNETON NARODNI PODNIK. Feb.13, 1963 [Feb.15, 1962], No.5838/63. Heading G3R. In a voltage regulator for a generator G, the conductance of a transistor T1 connected in series with the field winding B of the generator is controlled in dependence upon output voltage variations by a circuit including a second transistor T2 and a tunnel diode TD. The arrangement is such that when the output voltage has reached a predetermined value, any further increase in voltage causes the resistance of the tunnel diode TD, then operating within the negative resistance portion of its characteristic (Fig. 2, not shown), to increase whereby transistor T2 is rendered conductive to control the conduction of transistor T1 in a corrective manner.
