Abstract
1517237 Automatic voltage control INST ELEKTROSVARKI IM E O PATONA AKAD NAUK UKRAIN SSR 11 Oct 1976 42200/76 Heading G3R A voltage regulating circuit includes a transformer 1 producing an output which is compared with a desired voltage in a circuit 4 which may include a bridge with avalanche diodes and a variable resistor for setting the desired value. The resulting error signal is passed through an intermediate amplifier 7 to a differential power amplifier 10 which accordingly increases the current in one of a pair of control windings 13, 14 and decreases the current in the other winding so as to stabilize the transformer output voltage. Circuits 18, 22 detect when the range of regulation is exhausted and cause a switching circuit 15 including logic elements to energize a tap-changing circuit 27 which may employ magnetic devices or thyristors. A trigger circuit 28 ensures that the desired voltage is reached from a minimum tap setting when the arrangement is first switched on. Circuit details are described with reference to Figs. 2, 3 (not shown), and transformer construction and connections are illustrated in Figs. 4-15 (not shown).
