Abstract

993,262. Coaxial cavity resonators. R. HOPT. March 12, 1962 [April 1, 1961], No. 9397/62. Heading H1W. In order to obtain a greater effective length of the central conductor 3 in a tunable coaxial cavity, the movable plates 8 of the rotary tuning capacitor are situated between the ends of the conductor. The conductor 3 passes between the movable plates 8 and is supported together with the stator plates 7 by a trimming capacitor 6. At the other end it is supported by a similar trimming capacitor 5. The shaft 9 of the rotary capacitor may be situated, as shown, under the central conductor, or it may pass through the central axis of the cavity, in which case the central conductor is cranked to pass over or under the shaft. The cover plate 4 of the cavity is shown broken away.
