Abstract
992,314. Haymaking machines. PATENT CONCERN N.V. July 25, 1961 [Aug. 22, 1960], No. 26904/61. Heading A1F. A side delivery rake comprises rake wheels 3 mounted on a main beam 1 supported by two beams 4, 5 which support cross members 6, 7 to form a coupling member for attaching the implement to the lift linkage of a tractor and is characterized in that a ground wheel 13 is connected to the coupling member. The wheel 13 is pivotally supported at 14 and carries a locking pin 16 adapted to engage holes 17 in a quadrant to vary the height of the ground wheel with respect to the frame of the rake. The beam 1 is arranged at the same height as the upper peripheries of the rake wheels and secured thereto are downwardly inclined beams 2 which terminate in vertical bearings for slidingly supporting one arm 19 of L-shaped members 18 which support the rake wheels. The rake wheels may move vertically against the action of springs disposed on either side of the bearings. A quadrant plate 22 is secured to each bearing and a locking pin 25 is associated with each arm 19 supporting the rake wheels whereby the rake wheels may be turned into the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1 when the machine acts as a tedder.
