A rectifier arrangement 1, 2, comprising a semi-conductor rectifier element or a plurality of such elements disposed in one or more stacks, is in good thermal connection (e.g. partly through an electrically insulating foil 5) with a metal holder 4 which is sealed in an electrically insulating housing 6 with which it is in direct thermal contact over an area at least twice as great as the area of good thermal connection between the holder 4 and the rectifier arrangement 1, 2.
