A gas supply unit comprises a housing 10 into which a gas supply pipe 22 passes through an aperture in the bottom wall 12 and out of which a tubular spigot 31 passes through another aperture, a third aperture being provided at 20 for alternative use and, contained in the housing, short tubular junction pieces 21a, 21b, each having connector means at its ends and arranged in generally side by side relation in the housing and connected to each other at one set of ends by a short tubular bridge piece 33 within the housing and having at the opposite set of ends connector means to the gas pipe 22 and to the tubular spigot 31, the junction pieces having lateral openings for the mounting of respective service fittings. The gas pipe 22 and the junction piece 21a are joined by a connector piece 23 which includes a tapered spigot and socket gas-tight joint. The connector piece 27 to the junction-piece 21b is similar to 23 except that, at its lower end, it includes the spigot 31 which carries a clamping nut 32. The bridge piece 33 has tubular spigots 37, 38 which make gas-tight joints with the upper ends of the junction pieces 21a and 21b. One end of the bridge piece 33 is blind and the other end is screw-threaded at 49 for a plug, which may be adapted to adjust gas flow. The service fitting incorporated in the junction piece 21a is a tap or cock 54. The service fitting 56 connected to the junction piece 21b includes a bayonet type connector element for a flexible gas pipe. A cover is fastened to corner gussets 17 and has openings to the service fittings 54, 56. The junction piece 21a may be moved to occupy the position on the other side of the junction piece 21b merely by rotating the latter. If a tap such as 54 is not required, a junction piece similar to 21b may be used, with a plug instead of a connector.
