Abstract

985,794. Cables. SOC. ANON DES USINES CHAUSSON. Aug. 24, 1962 [Oct. 2, 1961], No. 32708/62. Drawings to Specification. Heading H1A. To prevent the conductive core of a circulating-fluid cooled cable rubbing against the inner wall of its loosely enveloping insulating cover, the core is immersion coated with a thin layer of plastics material at a temperature between 200‹ C. and 250‹ C. The layer is formed sufficiently thin to ensure the formation of surface beading after being stretched in use, to further reduce friction. The inner walls of the outer insulating cover of the cable may be painted e.g., with silicone paint.
