984,604. Cushions. W. R. BRIDGENS, and R. B. TIBBS. Nov. 26, 1963 [Nov. 30, 1962], No. 45284/62. Heading A4M. A cushion has cellular or spongelike plastic 10 enclosed within a two-part cover 11 of an air impervious material such as polyvinyl chloride, the two parts of the cover being heat-sealed together and the cover 11 is provided with an air inlet tube 12 which can be sealed by a plug to allow the cushion to be inflated or deflated to a desired hardness. Alternatively the cover may be of a textile material which is coated by spraying or dipping in a rubber solution, polyvinyl chloride or other material to form an air impervious skin.
