885,863. Mattresses. TALLEY, H. A. E. Oct. 20, 1960 [Oct. 29, 1959], No. 36756/59. Class 52(4) A mattress for use on hospital operating tables and trolleys has a body 1 of resilient material such as sponge rubber, foamed rubber or foamed polyurethane, the undersurface and edges of which are covered by a layer 2 of sheeting such as rubber, rubberized fabric or a plastic, and the upper surface carries a layer 3 of corrugated resilient material such as rubber sheeting secured to the surface so as to present air channels 4 which may be sealed to form closed tubes. The mattress is used with the corrugated side to the table or trolley. In a modification corrugated layers are provided on both faces and in a further modification the layer is corrugated in two directions at right angles to form humps.
