Abstract

984,187. Vented bags. OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORPORATION. April 9, 1963, [April 25, 1962], No. 14226/63. Heading B8K. Air can escape from a bag through an intermittent lap seam 16. In the multi-ply paper valve bag illustrated similar intermittent seams 16 ... 19 in the several plies are staggered. The portions 21 of the seams are glued, leaving holes 22 which are closed by the pressure of the material. The invention may be applied to plastics bags.
