Abstract
984,185. Marker posts. J. ATTENBERGER. Feb. 22, 1963 [Feb. 22, 1962; April 2, 1962], No. 7234/63. Heading E1B. [Also in Division G1] A marker post to denote boundaries in surveying comprises head and body portions 2, 1 intended to protrude above ground level from an anchoring part 3. The portion 1 is solid or tubular and of metal, plastic, or plastic covered metal, the head 2 of coloured plastic, and the anchoring part of metal. The marker may alternatively be of wood. A thread 4 is provided and cam surfaces formed on the top of the head 2 may be utilized in screwing the marker into the ground. The head may also be formed with depressions, projections, or with a hole, for use with surveying instruments and ranging poles. The anchoring part 3 may be provided with detachably cast iron sheath to be left under the ground as a marker when the main marker is removed.
