983,687. Centrifugal fans and pumps. AMETEK Inc. Dec. 11, 1963, No. 48957/63. Heading F1C. [Also in Division B3] A centrifugal fan or pump impeller has longitudinally tapering blades 14, Fig. 7, secured at their edges to side plates 10, 12 which were initially flat, Fig. 6, whereby at least one of the side plates is elastically deformed. The impeller has eight curved blades with lugs l5a-l7b adapted to project through punched out apertures in the side plates and be riveted over simultaneously or in pairs. The impeller is preferably made of aluminium for use in a vacuum cleaner.
