In a haymaking machine or a rotary cultivator having one or more rotors with circumferential ground-working or cropworking parts, the parts (e.g. the blades 11-14, or the tines 62, 63) are connected to a hub 1 by support-members 17, 18 which are connected to elongated torsionallydeformable elements 16, 19 in such a way that, during operation, axial deflection of the support-members will be torsionally opposed by the elements 16, 19. In Fig 1, the torsionally-deformable elements and the support-members are constituted by wires bent into hairpin-like portions which carry digging blades 11-14, the blades each being double-ended and being clamped on the hairpin portions by plates 29 and bolts 30. The intermediate bends 23, 24 between the support members pass through holes 7 in lugs 6 formed in the hub 1. In Fig. 3 adjacent wires 39, 40 are arranged to overlap in the region of the lug 6, but in Fig. 1, the overlap occurs below the plates 29. In Fig. 7, several sets of hairpin-like supports are superimposed, the parts 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 78 being formed from a single bent wire and similarly for the parts 70-77. The tines 62, 63 are separately formed and are clamped between plates 95, 96 by bolts 101. In Fig. 11, the tines 111, 112 are formed integrally with one of the parts 113, 114 of the hairpin-like supporting members, the two parts of each hairpin, together with the tines being clamped together by plates 127, 128 and bolts 130. In both these constructions the bends 105, 120 between the supporting members are located between studs on the hub of the wheel so as to have some freedom of movement.
