919,820. Threshing machines. MASSEYFERGUSON (UNITED KINGDOM) Ltd. May 21, 1959 [June 6, 1958], No. 18072/58. Class 6(3). The threshing drum 6 of a combine harvester has beaters 10 which consist of metal sheets extending longitudinally of the drum and of V-or U-shaped, cross-section, one arm 11 of the profile being longer than the other 12, and extending tangentially to a circle to which the shorter arm extends radially. The drum is hexagonal having six beaters each of which has its long side forming an extension of a side of the drum and being bolted thereto. The spacing between the drum 6 and concave 7 is greater than is usual, the corn being threshed by pressure rather than impact. Rubbing bars may be detachably secured to the beaters.
