982, 672. Comparing liquid levels electrically. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. May 30, 1963 [May 30, 1962], No. 21769/63. Heading G1N. Apparatus for measuring the difference between the level of liquids in two adjacent containers 2, 3 (Fig. 6) comprises a float 14, 15 in each liquid, the one 14 controlling the vertical position of the coil assembly of a differential transformer 18, and the other 15 controlling the vertical position of the core 20 of the transformer, whereby the transformer output is indicative of the difference in liquid levels. Mechanical means (Fig. 7, not shown), are provided for preventing lateral movement between the float assemblies.
