Abstract

940,219. Magnetic couplings. DEWRANCE & CO. Ltd. May 30, 1961 [May 30, 1960], No. 19028/60. Heading H2A. [Also in Division G1] The level of liquid in a container 3 is measured by float 40 and transmitted by magnetic attraction betwen primary magnets 37 and secondary magnet 27 to indicating pointer 18. The secondary magnet and pointer assembly are enclosed in non-magnetic housing 25 which is screwed into container 3 and the joint sealed by copper washer 9. For maximum sensitivity secondary magnet 27 is closer to spindle 33 than primary magnets 37 when in the horizontal position shown.
