Abstract

982,558. Watches. J. PARMENTIER. April 10, 1963 [April 10,1962], No. 14334/63. Heading G3T. In a waterproof wrist watch, the winding knob, or a fixed sealing cap 2 which covers it, projects on a side where the wristlet 6 is attached, and the case is provided with an articulated or hinged part 5 to which the wristlet is attached and which normally surrounds the knob or cap over a substantial part thereof to protect it, the part 5 being movable about its hinge 4 to a position where the knob or cap is exposed for manipulation. In Fig. 1 the part 5 protects a fixed sealing cap 2 over the winding knob. In an alternative, Fig. 5, the part 5a hinges about a pin 9 parallel with the watch axis and is formed integrally with a sealing cap which seals against a washer 8. The part 5a is retained by a releasable lever 10 having a catch which en- gages the part 5a. The parts are arranged so that a generally symmetrical appearance of the watch is preserved.
