Relates to a mobile weigh batcher having a single chassis with wheels and carrying a cement container 9 (Figs. 1, 3) a cement weigh hopper 25, an aggregate weigh hopper 27, screw elevators 30, 31 for feeding cement from the container to the weigh hopper 25, and an inclined endless belt conveyer 39 extending below the weigh hoppers and upwards along the length of the chassis through a passage extending through the cement container to a discharge outlet shoot 43. The bottom of the cement weigh hopper 25 has rotary metering device 26 which empties the hopper at a constant rate irrespective of the fluidity of the cement. The cement weigh hopper is filled to the correct weight from the cement container 9 by screw elevators 30, 31 driven in turn by an electric motor 38 (Fig. 2 not shown) under manual control, a dial 49 registering the weight of cement in the hopper 25. The aggregate weigh hopper 27 has two compartments, one for sand and one for coarse aggregate, and having manually controlled pneumatic ram actuated discharge gates 28, 28a respectively. The hopper 27 may be filled to more than the required weight of aggregate and sand by a mechanical shovel or drag line (not shown) and by consulting a weight indicator dial 48 the operator can discharge the correct weight of aggregate and sand successively on to an electric motor driven conveyer belt 39. The weighed amount of cement is then discharged on to the belt and the whole batch of sand, aggregate and cement is discharged through the shoot 43 into a mixer (not shown). The batcher includes a diesel generator unit 24 providing power for an electric motor driven compressor and the other electric motors. The weighing mechanism is not described.
