981,554. Fuel injection pumps. V. D. ROOSA. Feb. 21, 1961 [Feb. 29, 1960], No. 6296/61. Heading F1A. The rotary distributing part 26 of a fuel injection pump has diametrically opposite slots 48 which are connected to the pump cylinder and communicate alternately with equiangularly spaced fuel inlet ports 46 and outlet ports 58 leading to the injectors, the ports 58 being angularly arranged so that no two can communicate with the slots 48 at one time and such that they receive fuel alternately from each of the slots 48. The number of pump deliveries is twice the number of outlet ports 58 and the rotor runs at half engine speed (twostroke cycle). Specification 656,906 is referred to.
