Abstract
980,162. Pallet trucks. A. Y. PHILP. Sept. 27, 1963 [May 14, 1963; July 1, 1963], No. 38273/63. Heading B8H. A trolley comprises a legged pallet with pairs of wheels readily couplable and uncouplable at either end. As shown, the pallet has a rectangular iron frame 1 with legs 2 and a deck formed by planks 3. Arches 4 fitting into sockets 5 retain a load during transit. Pairs of wheels 6, 7 are coupled to either end of the pallet by pairs of bars 15, 16 engaging the frame 1. The action of coupling the wheels lifts the pallet from the ground. Latches 18 engage posts 17 to secure the wheels to the pallet. One pair of wheels 6 is mounted for angular movement to permit steering and is provided with a tow-bar 12. Both pairs of wheels 6, 7 are readily movable as a unit when separated from a pallet by articulating frames 8, 9 by a tow hook 13 and an eye 14.
