Abstract

1,107,763. Raising and securing load floors or pallets on vehicles; pallet trucks. H. G. POOLE. 18 Jan., 1965 [16 Oct., 1963], No. 40927/63. Headings B8E and B8H. A trailer or self-propelled vehicle has a chassis comprising longitudinal members 11 and a front cross member 10 but open at the end to provide a U-shaped space into which a load floor or pallet 14 can be raised and secured. Lifting arms 16 actuated by rams 18 engage bosses 15 on the floor 14 to lift it. The floor has projections 19 which engage recesses 21 in the members 11 to locate the floor and stiffen the chassis when the floor is raised. The floor is positively held raised by bolts entering sockets in it. Other lifting means are described including bars, mounted on pivoted arms, which engage projecting parts of the floor which may be in the form of a pallet with side members and actuation may be by a winch in place of rams.
