[Also in Division F4] The ends 1 1a of heat exchanger tubes extend through suitable apertures 16 provided in the wall of an integrally formed one-piece header 12 otherwise closed except for a fluid entry or exit port 14, each tube being sealed within its aperture by an insert or grommet 18 of a flexible sealing material such as synthetic or natural rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, or polyethylene. The grommet shown is L-shaped in cross-section. In other forms described (Figs. 3 and 4 not shown) a grommet of circular or U-shaped section is used.
