Abstract
979,176. Frequency changing. CONTINENTAL OIL CO. Feb. 6, 1962 [Dec. 8 1961], No. 4561/62. Heading H2F. A frequency changer comprises two full-wave semi-conductor controlled rectifier arrangements 12, 14 supplying a common load 20 in opposite directions from an A.C. source 16, and a control circuit arranged so that the rectifiers are switched on alternately at the desired output frequency. In the Figure each rectifier arrangement is a three-phase bridge, comprising three diodes and three semi-conductor controlled rectifiers. The control signals are preferably square waves, with a short time delay between the fall of one and the rise of the other (Fig. 3, not shown). Specifications 768,845 and 837,917 are referred to.
