A wrapper for articles of substantially permanent shape such as a chocolate bar or stacked biscuits comprises a blank having substantially triangular or circular segment corner portions removed and which is adapted so that when its corner panels are folded about lines 8, 10 to overlie the contents and end and side panels 7, 9 and 11 and when panels 7, 9, 11 in that order are folded inwardly to enclose the contents, no portion of the outer surface of the wrapper contacts the contents. As shown in Fig. 3, after the initial folding about lines 8, 10 there is also folded inwardly about lines 6 portions of end panels 7 and the outer edges of the corner panels lie substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the wrapper. The cutting of a web, preferably a laminate of aluminium foil and paper, to produce a number of wrappers of the required shape is also described.
