The fuel electrode comprises a non-porous membrane of Pd/Ag alloy (preferably 25% Ag) (see Specification 928,449) and the oxygen electrode is porous metal sinter. The electrolyte is KOH. Ni or Ag sinter may be used and the electrode may be bi-porous.
