Heading F2H. [Also in Division E2] A bent rod 2 of round or polygonal section is secured to an apertured member such as a lever 1 by a synthetic resin cotter, e.g. of injection-moulded polyvinyl chloride, with at least one arm 5 having a hole 6 aligned with a hole in the lever 1 to receive the bent end 3 of the rod 2 and having a clip portion 7 with a groove 8 formed by walls 9, 10 for gripping the rod. As shown in Figs. 1 and 6 the cotter may have two arms 5, to receive the lever 1, reinforced by a web 12. The groove walls 9, 10 may extend away from an arm 5, Figs. 4, 6, or one wall 9 may be integral with an arm 5, Fig. 1. Each free wall may have a slot 11 for increased resilience.
