A label or indicator 12 is formed with a tab 11 adapted to engage in a tubular member 6 located on a supporting plate 5 having parallel top and bottom edges 10 which engage in opposed grooves 3 in a carrying rail 1 fixed to a shelf edge. Alternatively the plate 5 may be secured directly to the shelf edge. The tubular member 6 is formed with internal ribs 9 shaped to guide the tab 11 into the member 6 and to grip the tab.
