975,434. Nuts; screw-sockets; anchoring nuts to work. A. FISCHER. March 12, 1962, No. 9486/62. Heading F2H. A plate 4 is fixed to a support 2 by a screw 5 and threaded socket 1, e.g. of synthetic resin, the screw with the socket threaded on it having been inserted through aligned bores in the plate and support and then tightened to draw up the socket so that resilient spikes 1b, 1c, formed on the latter, pierce the support 2 if it is of soft material or are flattened, Fig. 3 (not shown) against its surface 2b if it is hard. The spikes 1b, 1c are initially spread slightly and are closed to pass through the bores but spring out again when right through and are spread further when the screw is tightened.
