974,779. Moulding concrete. BANBURY BUILDINGS Ltd. Oct. 29, 1963 [Nov. 1, 1962], No. 41304/62. Heading B5A. A method of producing an article of concrete, e.g. a post, having at least one transverse through hole, comprises charging a mould 10 having a projection 11 in its base with material to a level 13 and pressing the material to a level 15 with the press ram 14. The article with its blind hole is removed from the mould 10 by a second ram having ports in its operative face connected to a source of sub-atmospheric pressure. The second ram places the moulded article in a frame 19, 20 and a third ram 24, 25 carrying a punch 23, 26 is operated to punch the material forming the blind end out of the opening 21. The press ram, suction ram and punch may co-operate with a plurality of moulds 10 and frames 19, 20, each mounted on a stepby-step rotary jig, to perform the foregoing operations.
