Abstract

974,608. Measuring rotor unbalance electrically. L. KUHN. April 23, 1963 [April 29, 1962], No. 16036/63. Heading G1N. The dynamic unbalance signal at each of the bearings 6, 7 (Fig. 1) of a rotor 1 is mixed in Hall plate generators 9 (10) with sine (cosine) reference signals obtained from a synchronously driven generator 5, and the combined output signal is fed through an A.C. filter 11 (12) to give a D.C. voltage representing one component of the unbalance mass. The two components are fed to the deflecting plates of a CRO 13 to indicate the magnitude and phase of the unbalance mass at each bearing. In a modification the D.C. signals modulate a carrier voltage which is amplified and phase rectified before connection to the CRO.
