974,167. Links. FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI S.p.A. May 26, 1961 [May 27, 1960], No. 19141/61. Heading F2K. A connecting link, particularly for use in a windscreen wiper mechanism, and which is adjustable in length, comprises two flat elements 1, adapted to be locked together as by a bolt passing through a circular hole in the element 1, an axially extending slot 7 in the element 2, and nut and washer 5, 6, when such locking device is released the elements 1, 2 being slidable relatively to one another by rotating a screwdriver or other tool placed against surfaces of holes 9 in the elements 1, 2. The holes 9 may be triangular as illustrated in Fig. 1, or as in three other embodiments: (1) the triangular holes have curved sides; (2) one hole is triangular and the other is shaped as a number of interconnected triangles; (3) the holes are formed as elongated slots each having one toothed side.
