Abstract

A grout comprises a mixture of an aqueous suspension of a clay mineral or of a soil containing at least 25% by weight of a clay mineral and a water-soluble alkali metal silicate, to which mixture is added an alkali metal bisulphate. An alkali metal sulphate may also be added. The grout is initially a fluid stable suspension which sets to form a rigid, stable gel.
