Abstract
973,134. Revolving cylinder engines. H. DILLENBERG. March 18, 1963 [March 24, 1962], No. 10545/63. Heading FIB. A revolving cylinder engine comprises a rotor 10 rotating in sliding contact with a stationary casing 9, a piston 14 in a diametral bore of the rotor being mounted directly on a crankpin 131 of a rotating crank-shaft 13 whose axis is eccentric of the rotor axis. The throw of the crank 131 is equal to the eccentricity of the crank-shaft axis relative to the rotor axis and the crank-shaft is geared by pinions 132, 133, to gear teeth 102, 103, on the rotor so that the crank-pin makes two revolutions to each revolution of the rotor. Sealing rings 25, 27, are provided around the open ends of the cylinder bore and around the piston. A fuel injection nozzle 20 and exhaust and inlet ports 21, 22 are provided in the casing, the air being supplied to port 22 by a blower. Cooling cavities 105, 106, 145, 146, supplied with lubricating oil are provided in the rotor and piston and lubricating oil is supplied through passage 147 to the crank-pin and through ports 107 to the rotor surface.
