968,485. Filling crates with bottles. HOLSTEIN & KAPPERT MASCHINENFABRIK PHOENIX G.m.b.H. Dec. 19, 1962 [Jan. 8, 1962], No. 48053/62. Heading B8C. As bottles are lowered by grippers into a crate 13 they are guided by a grating 1 fitted with resilient guide plates 8. In the form shown, the crate 13 is first raised by a platform 12 from the feed conveyer 11. The grating 1 is divided into square passages by horizontal rods parallel with the sides of the grating. The grating may be mounted resiliently so that it gives if the crate 13 hits it. The upper face of the grating may be formed with guides 7 to guide the bottles in. The grating may readily be removed and replaced, and the gripper heads may be adjusted in the gripper to fit different spacings and heights of the bottles 9.
