Abstract

[Also in Divisions B7, E1 and Fl] An apparatus for destratifying reservoirs and other bodies of liquid comprises an open ended tube 1 secured at its lower end to a distributer 12, which is an ejector as in the parent Specification for emitting large bubbles into the tube when fed by compressed air or gas via a conduit 16. Ports 17 in the wall of the tube permit the liquid to be entrained by the bubbles, which acting like pistons in the tube 1, lift the liquid during their ascent up the tube to discharge it in a highly turbulent state at or near the surface. The lower end of the tube may be connected to a sinker 2 on the bed 8 of the liquid, and the upper end may be provided with a buoyant cone 20.
