Abstract

703,571. Froth flotation apparatus. BOLIDENS GRUVAKTIEBOLAG. Aug. 2, 1951 [Aug. 2, 1950], No. 18338/51. Class 82 (2) A froth flotation cell 1 comprises a pulp-aerating device in the form of a hollow shaft 8 for introducing air into the pulp with an impeller 5 at its lower end, a pulp inlet 2 located immediately below the froth blanket, and a tailing outlet 3 located below the level of the underside of the aerating device. The distance between the underside of the aerating device and the bottom of the cell is within the range of ¢ to 1/5 of the impeller diameter. The top front of the cell is rectangular in section and is connected by an inclined frusto-conical-shaped front to the cylindrical portion surrounding the impeller, whilst the front of the cell below the impeller is in the form of a frustum of a cone.
