Abstract
966,767. Hatch covers. BERGENS MEKANISKE VERKSTEDER A.S. March 29, 1961 [March 29, 1960 (2)], No. 11493/61. Heading B7S. [Also in Division E2] A hatch cover comprises four sections hinged together in pairs, the sections 11 being hinged to the coaming by means of hydraulic motors 28 of the oscillating vane type (see Division E2) which operate the cover and the sections 12 having guide members 16 pivotally mounted on pins 20 and supporting rollers 18, 19 which rest on the coaming. The guide members each include a locking rod 21 which falls under gravity into a recess 24 in a sloping member 29 when the cover reaches its open position. The rod can be manually retracted by means of a pin 22 which may be inserted into a branch 25 of an L-shaped slot 23 to hold the rod out of engagement with the recess 24 when the cover is to be closed.
