A terminal support of moulded insulating plastic material which may slide or clip on to the assembly rail of a connection bar, has at least one metal terminal in its upper part and a metal element connecting two wire-clamps in its lower part. Fig. 2 shows one embodiment in which the head of terminal 3 is embedded in insulation 1 which is extended to form a housing for a connecting element 6, comprising a bar connecting terminal - pieces which are held in the support by bosses 10 and 11. Conductors cooperating with element 6 enter the support through bores 7 and pass into bores 8 in element 6 to be clamped therein by screws 9 acted upon by retaining inserts 9a. The support is provided with nipples 4 and shoulders 12 to co-operate with edges 12a, Fig. 7, on insulating partitions 29 so that the latter are thereby fixed between supports mounted on an assembly rail 34 to form a connection bar. An end-plate 35, adapted to clip on the rail 34 or alternatively on nipples 4, has protruding portions 36 on which a cover 37 may be snapped to cover the assembly. The intermediate plates 29, end plates 35, and cover 37 may be replaced by individual covers. The supports shown in Fig. 7 are used to connect together high-frequency conductors 43 and 43a by means of terminal 3, and simultaneously to inter-connect the metal sheaths of these conductors through connecting elements 6 via ferrules 44, 44a and conductors 45 and 45a. Conductors 46 connect the metal sheaths of conductors 43 to connecting elements 6 of neighbouring supports, hence all the sheaths are connected, and may be earthed by connecting the end sheath to an earthing terminal 47 on a terminal clamp 38 on the rail. A support of the form described may alternatively be used to feed current from a common entry conductor connected to terminal 3 to five branch conductors (Fig. 11, not shown). In another embodiment, Fig. 5, a connecting element 13 of known type is housed inside a cavity 14 in an insulating block 15 moulded in one piece with a thin plate 16 which serves as an intermediate partition between neighbouring supports. A second block 17, also solid with plate 16, abuts the base of element 13 and a rib 19 with projections 20 on block 17 fits into a cavity 18 on said base to look the elements 13 into position. Bores 22 in the block 15 allow adjustment of screws 23 in the element 13. These supports may be placed in the same direction on assembly rails or face each other to allow shunting between upper terminals 27, when intermediate partitions 24 are provided only at the level of the connecting elements instead of over the entire height as shown. The cover for the supports may be pivotally mounted on the partitions (Figs. 8, 9, not shown).
