Abstract

963,262. Automatic frequency control. BLAUPUNKT-WERKE G.m.b.H. Oct. 28, 1960 [Oct. 30, 1959], No. 37037/60. Heading H3A. Relates to a television receiver in which the line oscillator 2 is synchronized by pulses from an A.F.C. stage 3 controlled through an R.C. filter network 7 by the output of a phase detector 9 which compares the phase of the line sync. pulses 17 from the sync. separator 15 with the output of the line oscillator or the line output stage 1. According to the invention, the time constant of the R.C. network 7 is short so that the A.F.C. stage has 8 range just sufficient to cover all likely frequency deviations. The negative direct voltage arising from grid rectification in oscillator 2 is also fed back over a resistor 23 to block the A.F.C. stage 3, for the major portion of each line scanning cycle, until the fractional alternating voltage of oscillator 2 fed back over capacity 22 has a positive value sufficient to cause unblocking. The capacitor 22 and resistor 5 shift the phase of this A.C. feedback and in other embodiments different phase shifters are used. The blocking of the A.F.C. stage prevents the introduction of interference impulses therethrough to the line oscillator for the said major part of each linescanning cycle.
