Abstract
An alloy steel has the following composition: .C.0.05-0.3% .Si.not more than 0.35% .Mn.0.6-0.8% .Ni.8.0-9.0% .Cr.0.25-1.5% .Mo.0.3-1.5% the remainder being iron apart from usual impurities. The heat treatment disclosed comprises austenizing at 800-950 DEG C., air cooling to 0-250 DEG C., tempering at 300-650 DEG C. and then cooling to room temperature.
