An article for cleaning and retouching surface finishes comprises an absorbent pad e.g. of cotton fabric or wool impregnated with a finely divided mild abrasive and a liquid lubricant and cut along an irregular line to provide a saw-toothed non- fraying edge. The abrasive may be pumice powder, and the lubricant a clear mineral oil. A colour-matching stain may also be incorporated, and the pad may be enclosed in a sealed bag.
