Die verdampften flüchtigen Aktivstoffe schlagen sich dann an den seitlichen Innenwandungen, inneren Oberflächen sowie auch an Glastüren nieder, wo sie vorhandene Verkrustungen und sonstige Verunreinigungen mit ihren Tensiden lösen. Mit dem aus dem Mikrowellengerät entnommenen ausgeheizten Reinigungstuch lassen sich dann die Verunreinigungen leicht abwischen.
