961,086. Open fireplace backboilers; hot water boilers. OUZLEDALE FOUNDRY CO. Ltd. May 22, 1963 [June 12, 1962], No. 22414/62. Headings F4A and F4W. A backboiler 10 for a domestic grate particularly of the type used for under-floor draught fires, consists of a back portion 11 and side portions 12 between the lower portions of which extends a tubular portion 13, a flue 17, 17a formed between the portions 11, 13 conveying gases from the level 15 of the grate through the boiler to an outlet 18, baffle plates 22, 21 then deflecting the gases into a flue 19 wherein they pass upwardly over the angled upper part 20 of the back portion of the boiler. The lower plate 22 is removable to enable the flues to be cleaned.
