Abstract

959,241. Agricultural implements. ROTARY HOES Ltd. May 9, 1963 [July 12, 1962], No. 26799/62. Heading A1B. The frame of a rotary cultivator is fabricated from sheet metal and comprises downwardly directed end walls 14 providing journal bearing supports for the ends of the rotor and a roof portion 10, and shield 13 curved about the rotor axis and both being fast with the end walls. As shown a triangular shaped member 18 is provided for reinforcement. One end wall 31 is shaped to provide a case for a driving chain 16. A gear box 49 is mounted in the roof 10 and is driven by a shaft 52 from a tractor power shaft. Brackets 40 carry adjustable wheels 48 and a structure 42 for attaching the cultivator to a tractor lift linkage. A movable cover plate 57 is provided at the rear of the machine.
