958,365. Rotary compressors. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A.B. May 30, 1960 [June 4, 1959], No. 19011/60. Heading F1F. A rotary compressor of the intermeshing screw type incorporates at least one valve 60 in the low pressure end wall 34, to vary the point of cut-off between the working chambers and the low pressure supply. A series of individual ports spaced peripherally round each rotor axis may be controlled individually by poppet valves or radially sliding members, or, as in Fig. 6, elongated ports 72, 74 are progressively adjustable by slides 72A, 74A, whereby the mass flow and compression ratio are conjointly varied. In Fig. 8, an arcuate member 78 is movable about the shaft 24 of one rotor, to vary the extent, in the end wall 34, of the inlet port 38.
