958,268. Change-speed gear. FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. Oct. 31, 1961 [Nov. 4, 1960], No. 38970/61. Addition to 956,611. Heading F2D. The change-speed planetary gearing for bicycles &c. of the parent Specification is modified by replacing the radial-arm-and-slot connection, between the clutch disc 13, the ratchet ring 11 and the driven sleeve 16 fast with the wheel hub 17, by peripheral teeth 14 on the disc in permanent engagement for axial sliding with respect to teeth 15 in the driven sleeve, the disc teeth 14 also being engageable with the teeth 10 inside the ratchet ring. The teeth 14 &c. may be involute or cycloidal, and permit lost-motion between the clutch disc 13 and the ratchet ring 11, to prevent locking of an associated back-pedal brake.
