Abstract

957,589. Facilitating severance of webs. DYMO INDUSTRIES Inc. July 4, 1962 [April 10, 1962], No. 25560/62. Heading B4B. [Also in Division B8] A label or tape comprises a base strip 16, Fig. 1, having a layer 18 of pressure-sensitive adhesive on one face and formed with a single or, as shown, two weakening zig-zag or sinuous cuts or perforations 31 extending continuously along the length thereof. The cuts are located between two narrow strips 21 which are secured to the adhesive face of the strip 16 adjacent its edges. When a label 19 is applied as shown in Fig. 4, any attempt to revive it results in the destruction of the label by tearing which is facilitated by the strips 21, the latter also serving to prevent the convolutions of the roll 13, Fig. 1, from sticking together.
